Getting Started with Icarus

Prerequisites

• Chrome browser (version 121 or later)
• Windows 10/11 or macOS
• Gmail account

Step 1: Install Chrome Extension

Visit the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome" to install the Icarus extension. The Windows Native Host will install automatically on Windows systems.

Step 2: Grant Permissions

After installation, you'll be prompted to grant permissions for Gmail integration. Click "Allow" to enable Icarus to verify emails in your inbox.

Step 3: Register Your Device

The extension will guide you through device registration. This creates a secure cryptographic key stored in your computer's TPM (Windows) or Secure Enclave (macOS).

Step 4: Start Verifying Emails

Open Gmail and you'll see verification badges next to sender names. Click any badge to see detailed verification information.
